Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Cooperation, President of Zayed University has honored with her presence the 2nd Town meetings held consecutively in Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses on the 4th and 5th of June 2014. The Town Hall meetings are platforms of communication between ZU management, staff and faculty to collaborate and share opinions, in compliance with the University strategic and operational plans, and in line with the wise vision and directives of the UAE Government.
Stressing on the importance of Town Hall meetings, Dr. Abdalla Al Amiri, Provost of Zayed University, assured that the meetings reflect the keenness of Her Excellency ZU President and her tireless efforts to implement justice and equality, as key integral components of the Government vision, to exponentially enhance the role of human capital towards sustainable development for the future.
During the open talk meeting, Dr. Al Amiri discussed many focal topics , based on official statistics, which aim to promote teamwork spirit and enhance self-initiatives among all employees, to reach top performance in education and management, through developing new projects currently under process at the University, and setting solid ground to develop the academic performance and scientific research, library learning resources, professional training, as well as physical campus development.
Moreover, Dr. Al Amiri has proudly shared with the audience the job satisfaction survey made by the University which had explored the opinion of 414 faculty and 182 staff members , revealing positive percentage outcomes among 77% of faculty and 80% of staff, and had also highlighted the importance of SAHIM, the new e-suggestions system launched by the University, through which the University management has been able to adopt selected new and creative ideas and proposals made by faculty and staff, some of which were rewarded during the conduct of meeting.
To close the 2nd edition of Town Hall, faculty and staff were given the stage to voice their opinions and inquiries, which aim to enhance work standards, and improve the level of services provided.
