Magan Boat of the UAE Brought to Life in Research Collaboration

Record Number of Zayed University Alumni Sign Up to Mentor Current Students
Zayed University proudly reports a marked rise in alumni participation as mentors in its Partner Challenges program. This success follows the "Give Back" campaign, which was launched earlier this year by ZU's Alumni and Student Life departments. As a result of the campaign alumni now account for 1 in 5 (or 20%) of the total 192 mentors on the Fall 2023 program. This represents a significant rise on previous iterations when just 1 in 20 (5%) mentors came from the alumni community.

Charitable Institutions Commended for Supporting Student Education at Zayed University
Charitable institutions and organizations have today been praised at a special appreciation ceremony for donors who have provided ongoing contributions to the field of Higher Education at Zayed University (ZU), by supporting students with their educational needs. Among the initiatives supported in the 2022/2023 academic year was the provision of monthly stipends to 346 students to cover transportation costs, food and other needs, and equipping 76 students with computers for academic uses that will support their studies.

The Zai Centre at Zayed University has today launched a new diagnostic tool designed to detect Arabic reading difficulties of young children. SARD, or the "Screening Arabic Reading Difficulties" tool, utilizes innovative technology to identify learning gaps and enables schools to make informed decisions on how to tailor their approach to teach individual students. The tool is specifically targeted at children from grade 1 to grade 6.

A total of 800 Zayed University students aim to raise Dh100,000 for underprivileged refugees
In an effort to encourage young Emiratis to become more socially responsible, a total of 800 students along with Zayed University faculty and staff were engaged in a service-learning project that aims to ease Syrian and Palestinian refugees’ burden on Monday on Zayed University’s Abu Dhabi campus. Action 2015 is a co-curricular project based on the ABP’s curriculum that has a focus on the topic of Humanitarian Aid. The aim of this service-learning project is for students, male and female, to further understand what a humanitarian crisis is and how they can by providing humanitarian relief where it is needed most.
