About ISER
The Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) was founded in 2010, and is operating under the umbrella and support of the Provost Office at Zayed University. ISER's principal objective is to undertake high-quality, independent research that will assist in furthering the social and economic development in the UAE and the region. In addition to a wide range of economic issues, ISER focuses on areas such as cost of living and quality of life, social aspects of economic development, females' empowerment and participation in economic activities, education, labor markets, economic sectors productivity and development, energy and environmental aspects of modern societies, small and medium enterprises, and the effectiveness and efficiency of public and private services.
ISER's mission is to work closely with U.A.E. government departments and other public and private sector organizations to undertake empirical research on social and economic issues which will inform public policy and civil society in the UAE and the Gulf region. Key features of ISER's research is to be innovative and combines academic excellence of the highest international standards with practicality, independence and relevance.
ISER'S vision is to be the leading national centre in research excellence on economic and social development in the UAE and the region.
