Graduate Student Reflections

In my life, nothing has given me more pride and honor than being a graduate of the University that carries the name of the father and founder of the United Arab Emirates - Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. During my time as a student, I experienced joy, success, and achievement.  To enable this, the University provided an excellent environment for students that included academia, logistical support, a strong social network, state of the art facilities, and continual support for students.

While studying in my master’s degree program, Zayed University’s academic environment stimulated my interest in research. Faculty’s encouragement also made a significant impact on my development as a researcher. After graduating, I secured a research assistant and projects coordinator position at the University’s College of Education. Faculty’s mentorship was instrumental to my success - besides deepening my interest in education and developing valuable research skills, I presented at conferences, published my work in Q2 Scopus journals and won several recognition awards.

I chose to study at Zayed University given the institution is one of the foremost and longest established centers for senior management education in the UAE. Since its inception in 1998, the university continues to build on its reputation for academic excellence. I was honored to be admitted to the internationally accredited Master of Science in Information Technology (Cyber Security) program given its recognition as a world-class qualification. The reputation of this program has been generated from the ongoing excellence of teaching at a graduate level together with the research undertaken by a mix of dedicated international faculty. By balancing theory with practical application during the duration of the program, I firmly believe I was able to achieve a solid grasp of the challenging issues that managers employed in the field of cyber security experience today and those they are likely to face in the future.
