Professor
Dr. Syed Malek Fakar Duani has been teaching in both public and private universities for more than 25 years in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Throughout these years, he had also served at various administrative positions such as head of department and deputy dean (academic) at University of Malaya, dean at UNITAR and his last position was vice president (operations and technology) as Asia e University. He main interests are in building knowledge model for capturing social knowledge, ontology for news text retrieval, knowledge sharing tools for constructing community knowledge and applications of machine learning techniques such as clustering. He had served as reviewers to both international and national journal and conferences. He had acquired research grant funded by Ministry of Education (FRGS – Fundamental Research Grant Scheme) and Ministry of Science (MOSTI) and also British Telecom Research Center when he was the Principal Research Professional.
