Dean’s Message.

On behalf of Students, Faculty, and Staff, I welcome you to the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University. CACE aims to develop graduates who are leaders and innovators in the field of art and design practice, graduates who will contribute significantly to the cultural fabric of the UAE. Our intensive and rigorous art, design, new media and exhibition programs are practice based and industry-engaged. Faculty utilize the latest teaching methodologies, underpinned by cutting-edge technology and an innovative learning environment, to inspire a new generation of creative thinkers. Our graduates are the new up and coming artists, designers, gallery curators, educators, art policy makers and arts administrators, and it is through our graduates that we aspire to foster and build a vibrant art and design community in the UAE and abroad. Art and design are major contributors to a nation’s creative economy and in the establishment of a global identity, they are a country’s greatest export.

CACE offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts with majors in Interior Design, Graphic Design, Visual Art and Animation Design.


It also offers a minor in Curatorial Studies, and a joint degree program a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia Design with the College of Communication and Media Sciences and the College of Technological Innovation. 

CACE graduates have demonstrated their exceptional level of ability and achievement by winning many awards including the Christo Award, the Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award, the Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship program and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority's Qasr al Hosn Cultural District Mosque Competition. Graduate work has received broad recognition and acknowledgement through inclusion in many local and international exhibitions including Emirati Expressions 2013 and 2015, the A.i.R Dubai Residency Program, SIKKA Dubai, The Lab Gallery in New York, Venice Art Biennale, ARC Biennial of Art in Brisbane, Australia and the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in Washington D.C. CACE graduates have secured positions within both the public and private sector in the UAE as project managers, directors, curators and more, and at prominent institutions such as the 1971 Design Space, Sharjah Museum, Sharjah Art Foundation, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and various federal and municipal ministries throughout the Emirates. Many Interior and Graphic Designers have pursued an entrepreneurial path by establishing their own design firms and businesses such as the food truck SALT, Xpoze Idea Factory, FN Design and the creative hub Tashkeel.
