The ninth edition of the ZUMEFF festival was held under "Year of Zayed"

The 9th annual Zayed University Middle East Film Festival (ZUMEFF) took place on the evenings of Feb 26 to Feb 28, 2018, at the vibrant cultural hub of Warehouse421 in Abu Dhabi’s Mina area. The event was held under the ‘Year of Zayed’ Award, which was landed by Hooreya Al Muflahi from Zayed University in Abu Dhabi for her short film, ‘Sheikh Zayed’s 100th birthday’.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Al Qasimi, President of Zayed University, Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khaled Al Nahyan, and Her Excellency Maryam AlMheiri is the Chief Executive Officer of both Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi (MZA) and twofour54, alongside Her Excellency Barbara Leif, Ambassador of the United States of America to the UAE, His Excellency Patricio Fondi, Ambassador of the European Union to the UAE, His Excellency Frank Mullen, Ambassador of the Netherlands to the UAE, Toby Howard, Director of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the UAE and other diplomats, media representatives and movie enthusiasts.
