Conference Overview 

The conference will be held on November 23 (Wednesday) and November 24 (Thursday), 2022 at the Zayed University Dubai Campus.

On the first day, there will be an opening ceremony followed by 4 concurrent presentation sessions (P1, P2, O1, S1), a lunch break, and 3 concurrent presentation sessions (P3, P4, S2). 

On the second day, there will be 4 concurrent presentation sessions, a workshop session, followed by the closing remarks.

Prof. Ameer Al-Nemrat
Director of Cyber Security and AI Center, Reader in Cyber Security
The University of East London, UK

Dr. Ameer Al-Nemrat is a Reader in Cyber Security at the School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering, University of East London (UEL); Director of Cyber Security and AI Centre at UEL; and the director of the Professional Doctorate in Information Security and the MSc Information Security and Computer Forensics programs. In addition, Dr. Al Nemrat is the founder and the director of the Chip Forensics Reverse Engineering & The Electronic Evidence Laboratories, UEL, where he works closely with Law and policymakers and National and International agencies on cyber security research projects. Dr. Al-Nemrat's research in cyber security and digital forensics has considerably impacted public and industry practice at national and international levels. He was personally involved in the professionalization of initial police training in Africa, South America, and the Middle East. His experience and opinion were required to advise and help maintain international cyber security. He contributed directly to public awareness, and charitable organ organizations sustained and secured an online society and the public.


Mr. Khalid Yaqoob Baker
Senior Researcher in Research & Innovation
DESC, Dubai

Mr. Khalid Yaqoob Baker is a senior researcher in Research & Innovation at Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC). Khalid leads research projects covering various trending technological areas and collaborates with various universities. Khalid has experience in Project Management, Relationship Management, Information Technology, Cyber Insurance, AI, IoT, ICS, and Data & Analytics. Before this role, Khalid worked with a multinational company (MNC), where the focus areas were Data & Analytics and Information Technology. Khalid Yaqoob has a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the American University of Sharjah.

Dr. Andrew Marrington is an Associate Professor and the Advisor to the Provost for Programs and Curricula, Office of the Provost at Zayed University. At Zayed University, Dr. Marrington teaches digital forensics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Marrington received his Ph.D. in digital forensics from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where he studied at the Information Security Institute. Dr. Marrington's primary field of research is digital forensics, although he is also interested in other aspects of information security and emerging technologies' security and investigative implications. He serves on the program committees of various conferences and workshops in digital forensics and information security and on the editorial boards of several journals in the same field. He has also edited, with his colleagues Dr. Don Kerr and Dr. John Gammack, a book of peer-reviewed chapters about the security issues associated with wearable technologies.



Dr. Khondkar Islam is a Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) of the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) at George Mason University (GMU). He is also the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies and Coordinator of the Networking courses in the IST department.  In addition, Dr. Islam is the Director of the Cisco Networking Academy at GMU. His 25 years of work experience have been in Information Technology and Telecommunications, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and Department of Homeland Security government agencies, as well as academia at GMU, the University of Maryland at College Park, and the American University in Washington, D.C. He is a subject matter expert in cyber security and networking with Prometric. Dr. Islam has reviewed technical book chapters for Prentice Hall, McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons, and Addison-Wesley and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles. He also receives several prestigious research and education grants from National Science Foundation, the department of Defence, Break Through Tech (an initiative of Cornell University), Cisco, and others.  Dr. Islam received his Ph.D. and B.S. from George Mason University and MSc. from American University, Washington, D.C.



Mr. Haytham Jabbour is a Team Leader - System Engineering at Cisco. He graduated with a double major degree from L’Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB) and Masters in telecommunications & networks and Computer and Communication Engineering. He is an enthusiastic learner with 22 years of experience in the industry, holding various IT leading roles across the MEA area (Lebanon, Jordan, KSA, Qatar, UAE), which witnessed the exponential evolution of technology and its transformation of communication, businesses, and social life. He currently leading Cisco’s UAE Systems Engineering organization. He enjoys Football, History, programming, and AI. He masters many Languages, such as Arabic, French, English, and Spanish.



Dr. Fatme Al Anouti is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the College of Natural and Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi, UAE. She strives to promote the research ethos among students and encourages them to engage in conferences and to publish their scholarly work. She was acknowledged by the UNESCO and the UAE Ministry of Education for facilitating experiential learning in Africa and for coordinating study abroad programs for Zayed University students at top ranking universities in the world. She had focused throughout her career at ZU on capacity building mentorship to train undergraduate students to become research assistants and pursue graduate studies. She is the PI of the Biotechnology project; part of the Precision Medicine Virtual Lab Initiative; which focuses on the role of Artificial Intelligence in personalized medicine.

Dr. Mohammed Hussain
Associate Professor, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs
College of Technological Innovation, Zayed University, Dubai

Dr. Mohammed Hussain is an Associate Professor at the College of Technological Innovation (CTI) at Zayed University in Dubai, UAE. He served as the graduate program coordinator. Currently, he serves as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the CTI. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Computing at Queen's University, Canada. He conducts primary research in AI, Data Mining, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Trust. He is also interested in the area of edge computing and educational data. Since he joined Zayed University, he has taught different courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, such as Programming, Computer security, Computer Forensics, System Analysis, and Design. He contributed to many programming contests in the UAE and the Gulf area. He published his research in top reputed Journals and conference proceedings.
