Laptop Information

Dear Parents

Please accept my congratulations on the admission of your daughter/son to Zayed University. As part of your information kit about Zayed University, the Computing Services Department has provided you with some very important documents which you need to read carefully. The aim of these documents is to make you aware of the following:

  1. Frequently Asked Questions for purchasing laptop. This document gives you the price of laptop, payment methods, warranty period, insurance policy and the contact details of the vendor, who sells the laptop.  The vendor can be contacted for any laptop questions which you may have.

  2. Insurance policy. This document explains briefly the insurance policy for the laptop.

  3. Internet policy. Explains how the internet should be used by students. At Zayed University, we are very fortunate that there is no filtering of Internet sites because of an important research program at the university. However, students need to be aware that if they abuse this privilege, that they could be expelled from the university.

  4. There is also a letter informing you of when you should come to university to purchase the laptop. Please note it is important that you arrive at the time specified in the letter to insure that this process goes smoothly for you and Zayed University.

  5. Student ID is required for the payment of the laptop.

  6. Laptop Delivery will be done by providing the student ID card and original laptop invoice.

Each campus has a Service Desk department which, provides support for Zayed University issued software and computers to students, faculty, and staff. Help is available via Service Desk self-service, email, telephone or walk-in service.

Our staff is committed to attaining the highest level of quality and integrity in all relationships with its customers; the students, faculty and staff at Zayed University. The Help Desk is dedicated to continually improving the services and support we provide to the university community.

Zayed University Service Desk Does Not support and Service any laptop other than the one provided by the university. If your student chooses to bring his/her own laptop, you will require a separate outside contract for all maintenance and support.

The Service Desk strives to give the best service, but may not be able to handle all of your questions immediately. Questions involving supported software and applications that cannot be answered right away will be forwarded to the appropriate support personnel.
