Stress and Anxiety

SCC

Anxiety is a feeling that is associated with fear and worry. It is often experienced as having unhelpful thoughts related to threats and fear. It has some impact on how we see ourselves, others and our future. When someone experiences severe anxiety, it becomes especially difficult for them to control their worries and fears, which leads to constant feelings of threat, worry and fear. This in turn could have a strong influence on the daily life of the person and others around them.

Stress is part of the mind’s alert system to tell the person that they need to execute something, for instance to prepare for an upcoming exam or essay. A certain moderate level of stress can be seen as positive enticement, and can at times lead to higher productivity. However when stress becomes too overwhelming to the point that it cannot be managed, it becomes unhealthy and impacts one’s daily focus.
