Meet the Team

Dr. Hind Alrustamani, Acting director

ZU
Hind has been practising counseling psychology since 2006 in the UK, Switzerland and UAE. Her practice includes individual (children, adolescents and adults) and group counseling, as well as facilitating workshops.
Working with multicultural communities has enriched Hind’s experience of working with clients from different backgrounds and has helped her hone her ability to approach counseling through the client’s worldview. While in Geneva, Switzerland (2006-2011), she established her center which served a multinational community. She worked closely with families in transition, who faced many challenges such as changing country, language, job, or school.
Hind has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Webster University, Geneva, Switzerland. Previously, she obtained a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in Biochemistry from Imperial College, London, UK.
Hind’s core practice revolves around client centered therapy, in which she has integrated Play therapy and Art therapy to help clients find their inner resources for growth. The therapist in this setting is providing a safe, secure environment and showing empathy, congruence and a non- judgmental attitude, for clients to be able to facilitate change in their lives. She has subsequently integrated CBT, EMDR and mindfulness-integrated CBT to further enrich her counseling experience.
