A Special Tribute

A prominent national figure of great credibility and trustworthiness, a fervent national who witnessed the era of renaissance, inspired by the vision of the country's wise leadership, a faithful companion of the Father of Dubai, late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum,  a man of benevolence and dedication credited with a remarkable series of achievements during his lifetime,  His Excellency late Humaid  Matar Al Tayer, was a leader in the true sense of the word, who had penned with his contributions great accomplishments to the Nation.
 
In his successful life journey, His Excellency had always been committed to innovation, continuous quality-performance improvement, and excellence in all the senior positions he had shouldered, namely, as director of the National Transport Authority, member of the Federal National Council and of Dubai Municipality, member of the Supportive Higher Education National Committee, Vice-President of Al Nasr Cultural and Sports Club, and last but not least, advocate member of the Supreme Committee in charge of supporting the 1973 Arab war.  

Today, in recognition of their father’s pioneering achievements, and committed to pursue his heritage, the Al Tayer’s sons had generously initiated the establishment of “The Humaid Al Tayer’s Assistive Technology Resource Center” at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi campus,  to provide special needs students with equal education opportunities, equipped with the state-of-the-art educational tools.

We at Zayed University pledge to lift the banner of excellence in our pursuit to pave the way to our special needs students to achieve their goals and ambitions as key players in the growth of their Nation.
