Prof. Philip Hamill

Philip joined Zayed University in 2023 with a remit for research and graduate studies. During his career he has been responsible for leading the development, and implementation, of institutional research and teaching strategies to support organizational development to promote a high-performance culture. At a national level he has also been responsible for policy and initiatives to support the economic development of the financial services sector in Ireland and the UAE. Philip's personal research agenda investigates issues in corporate governance and finance, risk and information transmission in financial markets. His research agenda has produced a portfolio of peer-reviewed research in leading journals, book chapters and professional publications.

His academic background is in economics and finance with a B.A. (Hons) Economics, MSc in Accounting and Finance, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Ulster University, and also graduated from the TRIUM global executive MBA awarded jointly by the London School of Economics, New York University and HEC Paris. He is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Ms. Priya Sridhar

Priya joined the Office of Research as Senior Administrative Officer in 2017. She is very experienced at ZU, having joined the University in 2006 and worked in various departments. Her primary role is to help with the operations of the Office of Research, managing the grants (pre awards and post awards) and related tasks.

Dr. Fatma Faisal Said

Fatma Faisal Saad Said took up her appointment as Assistant Professor in August 2019. She currently teaches and contributes to courses in the College of Interdisciplinary studies where she conducts research on the sociolinguistics of bilingual language development in children and family language policy among Emirati and expatriate families. Her research is centered within Sociolinguistics and Applied Linguistics and primarily focuses on the bilingualism of Arabic-English speaking children and their families. Fatma aims to understand factors that contribute to the learning/non-learning of languages within the home and educational domains.

Fatma is an Editorial Board member of Multilingua (De Gruyter) and English Language Teaching (Oxford University Press); she is also reviewer for peer-review journals and various national and international funding bodies. She presents at conferences regularly and publishes on her research, in addition to supervising PhD students. She is also a visiting research fellow at the University of York, UK. She is also the Chair of the Research Ethics committee at ZU.
