Procurement Policy
Introduction
Zayed University recognizes the importance of efficient and responsible procurement management that contributes to achieving institutional objectives and promotes sustainable practices. This Procurement Policy establishes the principles and guidelines that will guide the procurement process at the university, including a special section dedicated to sustainability.
Objectives
a. Ensure that acquisitions are conducted fairly, transparently, and efficiently.
b. Obtain high-quality goods and services that meet the needs of Zayed University.
c. Promote sustainability and responsible resource use in our operations.
Guiding Principles
a. Integrity: All acquisitions will be carried out with honesty, impartiality, and in compliance with applicable regulations and laws.
b. Transparency: Procurement processes will be transparent and available for review by all stakeholders.
c. Equity and Competition: Fair and open competition among suppliers will be encouraged to obtain the best bids.
d. Efficiency: Procurement procedures will be conducted promptly and at the lowest possible cost.

Procurement Process
a. Planning: Adequate planning will be conducted to identify procurement needs and requirements.
b. Request for Proposals (RFP): For significant acquisitions, an RFP will be issued, clearly describing the criteria and conditions for interested suppliers.
c. Evaluation and Selection: Received proposals will be objectively evaluated, considering aspects of quality, price, and sustainability.
d. Contracting: Contracts will be formalized with selected suppliers, ensuring that agreed terms are met.
Sustainability
a. Sustainability Assessment: Sustainability aspects will be considered in the proposal evaluation process, alongside other relevant criteria.
b. Preference for Sustainable Practices: Preference will be given to suppliers demonstrating sustainable practices in their supply chain and operations.
c. Sustainable Products and Services: Preference will be given to environmentally friendly products and services complying with recognized sustainability standards.
d. Waste Reduction: Efforts will be made to minimize waste and promote recycling and reuse practices.
e. Social Responsibility: Contractors respecting labor rights and promoting fair working conditions will be encouraged.
