Investment Policy
Introduction
Zayed University recognizes the importance of responsibly managing its investments in line with its institutional values. This Investment Policy establishes the principles and criteria that will guide the university's investment decisions, including a special section dedicated to sustainability.
Objective
The objective of this Investment Policy is to preserve and increase the value of Zayed University's assets in the long term, ensuring the financial security and sustainability of the institution.
Guiding Principles
a. Safety: Investments will be made prudently and carefully to minimize financial risks.
b. Liquidity: An appropriate level of liquidity will be maintained to ensure the ability to meet financial obligations.
c. Transparency: All investment decisions will be made in a transparent and documented manner.
Sustainability
a. Evaluation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Factors: ESG factors will be considered in the investment selection and monitoring process, seeking investments that meet sustainable criteria.
b. Exclusion of Controversial Activities: Zayed University will refrain from investing in companies involved in activities contrary to our institutional values, such as the production of weapons, tobacco, or environmentally harmful practices.
c. Responsible Investments: Investments prioritizing corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices in their operations will be favored.
d. Investment in Sustainable Projects: Opportunities to invest in projects and companies that positively contribute to the environment and society will be sought.
Fiduciary Responsibility
a. Decision-makers will act diligently and in the best interest of the university in managing investments.
b. An Investment Committee will be established to oversee and regularly evaluate the performance of investments and ensure compliance with this Investment Policy.
