What do the diffrent color badges mean?

The different color badges indicate different roles and positions pertain in the program.


How is PALs is different from CALs?

PALs focuses on provided peer academic support, unlike the CALs that focus on career development such building your CV.


Can I join more than 1 student group at the same time?

Yes you can, however, it's important to keep in mind that balancing multiple commitments can be challenging, especially if the program is demanding. Make sure to manage your time effectively and prioritize your academic excellence to maintain a good balance.


How many minimum hours daily I need to dedicate to PALs ?

You are expected to complete 2 - 4 hours of tutoring per week.


How many types of PALs are there?

There are Academic PALs, SAS PALs, TA PALs and within Academic PALs we have PALs with diverse roles including" SM PALs, Mentors and Tutors.


Can male students join this student group?

Yes, all students are welcome to join the program.


What type of activities and events does the PALs organize?

We have internal and external events. Internal events include PALs only workshops which are organized by PALs themselves (e.g. embroidery workshop, book club, baking) whereas external events include volunteering opportunities and field trips (e.g. EHS, Spring into Success, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center Trip).


Can I be a TA and a PAL at the same time?

Yes, you can be a PALTutor and TA at the same time, However its mandatory to attend PALs TA training workshop after you join.


Can PALs choose courses and areas they tutor in?

Yes, you can choose the courses you would like to tutor as long as you have a grade of A- minumum in that course.
