V-PALs Information

ZUV-PALs Online Tutoring

The Peer Assistance Leaders (PALs) Program, also has a virtual support program (V-PALs). The goal of this innovative approach is to offer virtual on-line academic support anytime and anywhere to those requesting support. This approach is designed to increase access, as well as widen access to the support we offer. For example, Grade 13 high school students can now access the V-PALS and request academic support and/or receive answers to any pertinent questions they may have on Zayed University. The latter also applies to any international student who may want to learn about Zayed university as a potential university to study in.

To ensure the safety and security of our students in the virtual world, each V-PAL currently numbering 20 from both campuses, are given an avatar and a special V-PAL e-mail address. The avatars are designed to protect the students’ identities, i.e. hiding their gender and nationality. The V-PALs e-mail address provides a secure form of communication that does not compromise the V-PALs personal email. In addition, all V-PALs receive training on cyber security.  V PALs generally are online in evenings/nights at the weekends and use secure  online chat rooms  and virtual whiteboards to ensure  smooth and effective transferring of content.
