Under the patronage of H.E Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qassimi, President of Zayed University, the Youth Happiness, Tolerance, and Positivity Council at the university had recently held a special ceremony in recognition to the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, entitled "Zayed’s Giving".

The event, which was held at the Zayed University Campus in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with "Hope Circle" a division founded by the H.H Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation, chaired by Sheikha Shama bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, it hosted group Iftar to celebrate the occasion. Many ZU faculty and staff members and their families joined the event, which included activities such as taking souvenir pictures in traditional Emirati costumes, and donations to two initiatives by "Hope Circle", namely, ‘Tibun Tegroun’ (Do you want to read) and “Manaret Amal” (a Beacon of Hope).

The 'Tibun Tegroun' initiative aims to help unwell children to recover while reading. The initiative provides reading rooms in a child-friendly atmosphere filled with books and fun games to drive them away from the hospital theme. The initiative has opened 16 reading rooms in most hospitals in the UAE since its founding in 2013.

'Manaret Amal' provides hope to disadvantaged children in countries affected by war, poverty or natural disasters worldwide as they receive boxes containing solar-powered lamps that can be easily used. This initiative focuses on the importance of literacy and education to instil hope in the hearts of thousands of children in our Arab region and the world.
