Rebecca Kadaga, Ugandan Parliament Speaker and the President of the African Geopolitical Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, has praised the UAE's fast-paced development that is driven by the wise vision and strategic and insightful planning of the country's leadership to enhance its global competitiveness.

The UAE encourages all sectors to excel through competition for the lead in development, something which Zayed University represents, Kadaga said during a recent visit to Zayed University in Abu Dhabi, where she expressed admiration for its academic programmes, advanced research facilities and initiatives.

She invited the university's officials to visit Uganda to build academic and research tie-ups between the UAE and her country.

Dr. Reyadh Al Mehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University, who accompanied the African official during her tour, stressed that the Emirati institution matches international prestigious universities in terms of services for students.

Some 500 faculty members from prestigious international universities work at Zayed University, which plays a significant role in achieving the goals sets by the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda, Dr. Al Mehaideb said.
