Zayed University signs MoU with the Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund

Zayed University and Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Zayed University headquarters in Abu Dhabi in the presence of His Excellency Salem Saeed AlKhatheri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund, and Professor Reyadh AlMehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University.

The MoU came to reinforce the strategic partnership relations between the two parties, fulfill the needs of Zayed University community members, foster economic and social ties, achieve the public interest, and strengthen the principles of solidarity and collaboration advocated by Islam and supported by the UAE’s wise leadership.  

Professor AlMehaideb said: “Zayed University is very happy to partner with the Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund, which has always been committed to contributing effectively to the economic and social development of the UAE and keen on providing the best services and benefits to UAE citizens and residents alike.”  

“The agreement comes in line with the UAE’s efforts to improve the attractiveness of the Takaful industry. The partnership aims to ease the suffering of those in immense need and provide them and their families with the necessary assistance. The MoU is a testimony to the generous policies and initiatives adopted by the country’s wise leadership,” he added.

For his part, H.E AlKatheri expressed his pleasure on visiting Zayed University and gratitude for providing him the opportunity to introduce the significant role of the fund and its services.

“Today the Fund celebrates 30 years of success and generosity at Zayed University. Since the Fund’s inception in 1985 with the support of the Late Founding Father, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the continuous support given by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, incredible strides have been achieved in terms of providing humanitarian assistance to the UAE citizens and residents,” he said.

A total of Dhs57, 529, 046 have been granted by the Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund to around 18,248 members among many other services provided to people with special needs and deceased family members.

“The Fund provides loans with zero interest and flexible monthly installments for its members, affordable business loans, medical treatment, furniture, electrical appliances, tuition fees, Hajj and Umrah fees, travel and motor services as well as humanitarian aids in the event of death and disability,” he added.

The MoU ceremony was also attended by Abeer Al Shibani, Director of the Office of the Chairman in the Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund and Mohamed AlMazrouei, Director of Human Capital Department at Zayed University and Director of Administration at the Office of Vice President.
