Zayed University Graduation 2015
28 May 2015Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the graduation ceremony of the 13th batch of BA female students and the third batch of the male BA students of Zayed University (ZU) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre last night.
In the presence of Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) and President of ZU, Sheikh Dhiyab gave out certificates to 1,505 male and female graduates (1,082 holders of BA and 423 holders of master's degrees) of the class of 2013-2014. Fifteen of the graduates are enrolling in the national mandatory military service.
Since its founding in 1998, ZU now has a pool of 8,099 graduates, 6,766 of them were BA holders.
Addressing the audience, Sheikha Lubna affirmed that the ZU would pursue its noble mission as a prominent academic institution that offers best and quality standards of higher education and scientific research that serves the local community.
''We expect graduates to sincerely contribute towards achieving the State's goals of inclusive renaissance, sustainable development and civilisational race to become the best country in the world under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces,'' she said.
She urged the graduates to rally their creative energies to answer the call of the prudent leadership for innovation, modernisation and re-orientation of our living and knowledge approaches.
Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, a number of senior civilian and military officials, top educators, ZU's teaching and administrative staff, as well as diplomats from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman attended the ceremony.
