In an attempt to target and guide students who have not yet chosen their university majors, Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, President of Zayed University, inaugurated an open day recently at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses.

The two-day event, which attracted around 1200 students from different schools in the UAE, was attended by Prof. Reyadh AlMehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University and Dr. Marilyn Roberts, the Acting Provost.

As part of the open day activities, students were welcomed at Zayed University along with their parents, who have engaged and involved in fruitful conversations with Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna that were mainly focused on working hard, developing invaluable skills, and preparing for university life.

Around 22 government and private schools took part in the two-day fair, which lasted from 9am until 6pm. Students have also met representatives of various academic colleges to discuss academic majors and introduce several social activities.

Parents have also had the opportunity to visit the university academic colleges, and administrative units and facilities.

Following the two-day event, the office of Student Affairs at Zayed University conducted a survey to determine parents’ feedback. Many have praised the excellent role of Zayed University in promoting and developing education, which helped school students choose suitable scientific disciplines that match their skills and abilities.
