Dubai Government Human Resources Department signs MoU with Zayed University
29 Apr 2013Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, member of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Literature Foundation, said that the launch of “National Programme to Build Talent” reflects the massive efforts of the Dubai government to enhance the skills and knowledge of Emirati women graduates through exceptional educational experience provided by a great educational firm such as Zayed University.
The statement of Her Highness came during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Dubai Government Human Resources Department and Zayed University to implement this initiative across Dubai, in the presence of Her Excellency Amal Bin Adi, Director General of Dubai Government Human Recourses Department, and His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University.
“The initiative is in line with our wise leadership’s vision to empower our graduates and create a new generation of pioneering women who can contribute effectively to the UAE’s overall development,” said Her Highness.
“Providing graduates such an ideal platform to enable them to start a successful career where they can become an integral part of the national workforce, indicates how the initiative is an essential tool to achieve the UAE Vision 2021,” Her Highness added.
The initiative of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa (Zayed University Graduates.. Promising Future) is a major step towards building the capabilities of UAE nationals as well as training university graduates and preparing them for the labor market to help them contribute to the country’s overall development.
In response to this initiative, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, through the signing of the MoU with Zayed University, aims to help students to enter the labor market.
Her Excellency Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State and President of Zayed University, described H.H. Sheikha Latifa’s initiative as a major effort to enable graduates to gain experience through training opportunities with various authorities and start a fruitful career.
"This agreement is derived on the basis of mutual cooperation between the various components of the society and Zayed University, as both sides seek the development of education and provide joint training initiatives and knowledge sharing,” added Her Excellency.
Her Excellency Amal Bin Adi said that the initiative reflects the awareness about the importance of investing in human resources and striking a balance between the graduates’ aspirations and the requirements of the labor market. Her Excellency also pointed out the importance of the initiative in meeting the many challenges that graduates face when they enter the job market.
“Dubai Government Human Resources Department’s decision to foster the initiative is in line with its vision to build our citizens’ capabilities and enhance their participation in all business sectors,” added Her Excellency.
The initiative targets Zayed University graduates, enabling them to enter an integrated training programme followed by an evaluation and guidance scheme, and experience with the government business environment and culture. The Dubai Government HR Department is also interested in learning about the return on investment of the initiative, said Her Excellency.
Her Excellency expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikha Latifa for her constant support to the graduates and to the joint cooperation between the Dubai Government HR Department and Zayed University.
Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University, highlighted the importance of the partnership, describing it as a key element within the university mission, which pursues the highest levels and standards of programmes and services to the different institutions and organizations.
Dr. Al Jassim commended the initiative of H.H. Sheikha Latifa for supporting the MoU, which, he said, will contribute to development of the university graduates’ skills and their career.
