Union National Bank, signed an Endowment Agreement with Zayed University to establish a Professorship at Zayed University titled "Union National Bank Professorship in Banking". UNB will contribute an amount of Five Million Dirhams over a period of five years to establish this Professorship in Banking.
The Endowment Agreement was signed by H.E Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of Zayed University and Mr. Mohammad Nasr Abdeen, Chief Executive Officer of UNB. The ceremony was attended by Senior dignitaries and top management from both organizations at Zayed University on the 4th October, 2012 on the sidelines of the opening of a new UNB branch at the Zayed University.
On the sidelines of the signing of the agreement, the new UNB branch at Zayed University was inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan.
Mr. Abdeen, UNB CEO commented, "We are pleased to partner with a leading educational institute like the Zayed University. The Union National Bank Professorship in Banking is being established at Zayed University as a tribute to the wisdom and visionary efforts of the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and will promote teaching and research in the UAE. This initiative is in line with UNB's core philosophy of 'care' and is part of UNB's corporate social responsibility in supporting education and empowering the young generation of the UAE.
