U.S Congressional Delegation visit Zayed University in Dubai
19 Jan 2012Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University, Dr. Larry Wilson, Provost of Zayed University, and a number of deans, senior administrators, faculty members and students welcomed US congressional delegation in Dubai campus on January 12, 2012.
The American delegates expressed their satisfaction with the quality and development of education offered in the UAE under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The delegates stressed on the importance of scientific and academic cooperation and exchange of experiences between educational institutions in order to provide young generations with first-class knowledge, awareness and ability to participate in the implementation of national development strategies. They also praised the outstanding abilities of Zayed University students whom they met and conversed with. Zayed University students highlighted the fact that the UAE is constantly striving to continuously advance and develop educational curriculums and teaching methods across all levels and industries. They also mentioned that Zayed University is indeed offering excellent adacemic programs in all fields of study and very well preparing them to engage in the workforce.
The delegates were delighted with the overall learning environment at Zayed University which participates in achieving the main Zayed University Learning Outcomes, and stated that Zayed University is considered one of the top educational leaders on both the regional and international levels today.
Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University said he appreciates the cooperation between Zayed University and American Universities in many of the offered academic programs, as well as student exchange programs and faculty exchange programs, as they are all greatly and mutually beneficial. The American delegates toured around campus, Zayed University library and laboratories, and were also introduced to both undergraduate and graduate programs offered at Zayed University.
Dr. Larry Wilson, Provost of Zayed University introduced the American delegates to Zayed University’s dedicated faculty across different colleges, and stated they all played a vital role in making Zayed University the first university in the Middle East and outside the USA to obtain the Middle States Commission on Higher Education Accreditation.
