The German President Praises Zayed University

German President Christian Wulff, Mrs. Wulff, and the accompanying delegation paid a visit to the Zayed University new campus in Khalifa City Abou Dhabi. The President was accompanied during his visit by Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi Minister of Foreign Trade and the Head of Mission of Honor, Mohammed Ahmed Al Mahmoud, UAE Ambassador in Bonn and Nikolai von Schepff German Ambassador to UAE.

Upon his arrival on campus, the German President was greeted by Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University, Larry Wilson, Provost of Zayed University and a number of senior officials, faculty, staff and students.

The German President toured around the outstanding new Library before meeting with a group of female students and expressing his admiration for the substantial progress that the UAE has achieved across all sectors and industries within the span of only forty years. He also stated that the UAE has become a privileged partner of Germany, whether economically or culturally and indicated the it has become a global leader in higher education that is managing to attract a number of national and international students: he specifically stressed on the great role that Zayed University plays today in bringing cultures together and ensuring smooth and peaceful coexistence.

Wulff mentioned that the UAE’s youth are to be listened to as they are greatly keeping pace with developments worldwide and have wonderful access to both education and employment. And last but not least, he praised the achievements that women students and professionals are accomplishing in the UAE as they are jumping up the ranks in leadership roles today.
