Zayed University Launches The “International College” in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in The New Academic Year

Zayed University is currently working on the launch of the "International College" in the new academic year, a  first of its kind  initiative in this region. The college will start its first classes in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses in the academic year 2010-2011, which will start on September 19. The college attracts students from all around the world and will be offering graduate and undergraduate programs in international studies.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University, said the University Council in its last meeting that was chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, President of Zayed University, agreed to initiate this college to add to the programs and majors offered at Zayed University. The new college will assist in enhancing scientific and cultural relations with international organizations and applying best practice teaching methods, as well as exchanging students and research related to history, culture and international affairs in general. This will also provide the opportunity to organize leadership programs for ZU students and international students and organize workshops and training programs.

Dr. Al Jassim said the new programs provided is part of the university's strategic plan, offering courses related to society and what the market needs in different fields. These new majors will expand the students knowledge and add to their skills which will be reflected in their job performance when they join the workforce.

During their last meeting, the University Council has also agreed on offering new graduate and undergraduate programs in the coming academic year, which includes Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Arts in Emirati Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences joint with the College of Communications and Media Sciences, and Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Design in the College of Information Technology joint with the College of Communications and Media Sciences and College of Arts and Sciences.
