Students Present Proper Enterprise Models and Guarantee Future Leadership Skills, Noura AlKaabi

Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, President of Zayed University, recently inaugurated showCACE the 2019 senior exhibition.

The major event celebrates young talents as they take their place in leading the cultural development of the UAE. As art and design are significant contributors to a nation’s creative economy and in the establishment of a global identity, they are a country’s greatest export.

Students from the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises (CACE) presented their projects at Manarat Al Saadiyat Abu Dhabi during the exhibition which runs until May 4th.

On a separate day, Prof. Reyadh Al Mehaideb, Vice-President of Zayed University, inaugurated the Dubai-based exhibition at the Dubai Design District (D3) which runs until 2 May.

Al Kaabi enjoyed a comprehensive tour of the exhibition and viewed 35 projects presented by graduating artists from CACE in four majors: Interior Design, Graphic Design, Animation, and Visual Arts.

She expressed gratitude and delight from the outcomes shown by the rising artists, “The students truly inspire me. Their work from design to architecture, art, and visual arts and of course also entrepreneurship. I believe that the work looks, and from a standard perspective as a proper enterprise work and I am sure that they will forge their way as leaders in the near future.”

Both opening ceremonies were attended by Prof. Michael Wilson, Zayed University Provost, and Kevin Badni Dean of CACE, faculty members and university staff members and proud parents.

Kevin Badni Dean of CACE, said, “In a recent survey by Forbes, 95% of top US firms surveyed said that they require innovation in the workplace. Moreover, they look for college graduates who can think clearly and solve problems and be able to translate their ideas with good oral and visual communication skills.”

“Across the world, the creative industry has become an increasingly important strategic sector to boost competitiveness, productivity, employment, and sustainable economic growth.  Moreover, it is being used more frequently to promote social integration, social values, being used as a source of information as well as knowledge, and for cultural promotion.”

Marie-Claire Bakker, Assistance Dean of Students – CACE, said “Post-graduation, CACE students are capable of working in major international museums, or for all the industries surrounding the cultural sector or perfectly serve UAE’s private sector. The need for creative voices across the country is huge,” she said.
