The Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education  to welcome new batch of  UAE Universities’ students at Dundee-Scotland

In its continuous effort to promote multi-culturalism, the Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education at Dundee-Scotland is on the go to welcome  a new batch of female students from all universities of the United Arab Emirates who will participate in the 16th session of the “Multiculturalism & Leadership” program, organized by the College, August 12-. September 10, 2013.

During a press conference held on this occasion, Wednesday 31 July, 2013 at Zayed University, H.E. Mirza Al Sayegh, 
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Maktoum College, announced the new program, in the presence of their Excellencies, Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice-President of Zayed University, Dr. Abdalla Al Amiri, Zayed University’s Provost, and the United Kingdom Consul in Dubai, in addition to senior representatives of  participating universities and students and  their parents.

H.E. Al Sayegh considered that the greater number of participants and their keenness to take part in the  multi-culturalism events organized by the College reflect the immense success of the cultural strategy, approach and programs applied by the College, embracing today more universities and cultural institutions, with the remarkable participation, and for the first time, of six (6) female employees from Dubai Courts, along with the United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi University, the British University in Dubai, the American University in Sharjah, Dubai Women's College and the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai, in addition to Qatar University,

H. E. Al Sayegh elaborated on the excellent learning opportunities offered by the program to include leadership skills, multiculturalism topics and Islamic studies, along with a rich itinerary of various workshops, lectures and discussion panels, and site tours organized for them to enrich their historical  knowledge, and the visits to the top universities such as Oxford and Aberdeen, and Scotland’s landmark  the  Scottish Parliament, in addition, and for the first time, to the famous Sandhurst Military Academy. The program will also include meetings with some Scotland’s prominent figures and decision makers.

H.E. Al Sayegh wished the program all success and reconfirmed the interest of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, and his support of the scholars to gain experience and broaden their horizons of knowledge, as well as promoting cultural awareness.

Praising the key role of Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education, H.E. Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University highlighted that Zayed University was the first university to  join the College’s program which has become a milestone in the history and activities of the University, describing  the experience that Zayed University’s  scholars gain as a strategic milestone for ZU diverse activities and multi-cultural events, enhancing  the development of  students’ academic skills  through the various workshops, lectures and discussion panels to which they participate, and the prominent figures they meet with, and first and foremost, the tremendous learning benefits national and international students acquire.

H.E. praised the high level of cooperation with the Al-Maktoum Charity Foundation to support UAE students’ missions abroad and strengthen ties with prestigious academic national and international educational institutions, to enhance their learning performance and develop their multiculturalism concepts.
