Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan takes part in TEDxZU

The 6th TEDxZU salon took place following the Du Media Lab opening on March 20, 2012, bearing the theme of “Then, Now, and…My Media”, in the presence of H.E Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, President of Zayed University; Mr. Osman Sultan, CEO of du; James Picewoye, Zayed University Professor; as well as seasoned speakers and students portraying interest in the future of media. 

The talks all focused on the evolution of media practices regionally and internationally, and the crucial role that social media plays in shaping up the media of tomorrow.

Amongst the speakers were:

- H.E Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, President of Zayed University, who talked about the role that media continues to play in bringing people together all over the world;

- Mr. Sultan Osman, CEO of du, who talked about the regional evolution of social networking and mobile communication;

- Dr. Jack Hillwig, who talked about the role of education in helping young leaders change the world;

- Souad Al Serkal, Zayed University Graduate and Media Spokesperson, who talked about women’s contribution in improving communities and communication; and

- Ayesha Al Hamrani, Zayed University student specializing in Integrated Strategic Communications, who talked about low tech in a high tech world.
