Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research visits ZU

On the sidelines of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Zayed University was honored to receive in its Dubai premises H. Excellency Dr. Walid Maani, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Member of the Jordanian Senate,  who expressed his  appreciation for  the high attention and care the United Arab Emirates gives to education.

His Excellency Dr. Al Maani was accompanied by Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice -President of Zayed University in the presence of Saqr Abu Shtal acting Jordanian Ambassador in Abu Dhabi and a number of deans and faculty, administrative staff and students. Dr. Al Maani stressed on the importance of scientific and academic cooperation and exchange of experiences between Arabic educational institutions to prepare and qualify new generations characterized by their knowledge, awareness and ability to participate in the implementation of comprehensive development strategies in their countries. H.E the Jordanian Minister pointed out that the Ministry of Higher Education of Jordan is also keen to continuously update its curricula and to apply the best educational practices to embody the vision of the Jordanian leadership, which spares no effort in supporting and developing education as the cornerstone of development in all sectors. His Excellency also praised the academic programs offered by Zayed University and the various community service programs and expressed his admiration to the modern educational buildings available to students.

Welcoming the Jordanian delegation Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice-President of Zayed University praised the cooperation between Zayed University and Jordanian universities in the fields of education, research and students' and faculty exchange of delegations. H.E. Dr. Al Maani was escorted to the different departments and colleges of the University and was briefed on the international academic accreditation granted to Zayed University by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education in the United States, as the only university  in the UAE to achieve such accreditation, announcing that the University is preparing in the coming period to receive male students in  its Dubai campus in the new academic year, and that it is  currently enrolling about 4684 students in  both its campuses, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
