Zayed University Organizes a Lecture on Political Development in UAE Culture

Zayed University, Dubai, organized a lecture on Political Development in UAE Culture, presented by His Excellency Dr. Saeed Mohammed Al Ghafli, Director of Federal National Council Affairs, Ministry of Sate for Federal National Council Affairs, in the presence of faculty, staff, and students from different colleges at the university.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice-President of Zayed University, expressed the importance of this lecture which covers a major part of UAE nationals' life and the development of the concepts of political participation that was illustrated in the Federal National Council (FNC) elections in 2006. The great support from our leaders, the promotion of the development of parliamentary life in society and  encouraging nationals to participate in decision-making by considering public opinion which is represented by the FNC members.

Dr. Al Jsssim praised the interest of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs in establishing the idea of political participation through public campaigns to raise awareness  among young nationals, especially university students by preparing them to contribute to the development and prosperity of the country.

In his lecture, Dr. Al Ghafli reviewed the Ministry's strategic plan that was established in 2006 to coordinate between the government and the FNC regarding establishing the FNC's work and to participate in preparing the legislation concerning the role of the Council, among other things, through the overall vision and mission to consolidate political participation to support national gains.

Dr. Al Ghafli added that the Ministry of Sate for Federal National Council Affairs put forward five strategic objectives which include contributing to the implementation of the National Program of His Highness The President to execute and develop the role of the FNC, to develop the communication system between the government, the FNC and UAE nationals, consolidation of political development in the country and spreading its culture and organizational excellence as well as technical and logistical support to national committees.
