Zayed University Wins Best Networking Academy in the Middle East

Zayed University won the Best Networking Academy Award in the Middle East in an international competition organized by Cisco Systems, Inc. as part of their Cisco Networking Academy. Zayed University won against 234 nominated academies. The award ceremony was held in Byblos, Lebanon on 17-18 April, 2010, and was attended by participants from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq and Pakistan.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice-President of Zayed University, praised the achievement which reflects the high level of performance in the educational and administrative fields.

"Zayed University applies best-practice in educational programs  to achieve highly qualified students who are bilingual, skilled in advanced technology, creative and have problem-solving skills."

Nada Al Ameri, CIT Networking Academy Program Liaison, said winning this award against 234 competitors is part of the great achievements of Zayed University in the field of Information Technology. Cisco Networking Academy is a modern teaching initiative introduced by Cisco Systems, Inc. in 1998, aiming to enhance the I.T. sector in networking, award internationally accredited certificates in different fields of I.T.

Al Ameri added that according to a research conducted by Cisco Systems, Inc., the Middle East has the highest percentage of growth in participants to this program in the past couple of years.
