The session will demonstrate how integrating knowledge from different fields—such as technology, business, and social sciences—can foster innovation and informed decision-making.

Workshop Challenge Idea:

Students will apply Design Thinking to complete an AI-enabled activity focused on exploring their future career or study pathways. Through guided steps, they will use AI tools to identify potential careers, required skills, and educational paths, showcasing how interdisciplinary thinking supports personal and professional growth.

Outcome:

By the end of the workshop, students will present a simple, AI-supported solution that reflects their understanding of interdisciplinary learning and its relevance in addressing complex challenges. The activity aims to develop critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and digital literacy.

Awards:

All participating students will receive Certificates of Participation as recognition of their active engagement and contribution to the workshop.

Break the ice, create curiosity

Use fun questions, emojis, and instant feedback

5 mins

Intro to Interdisciplinary Thinking + AI Tools

Simple explanation of interdisciplinary approach and how AI supports problem-solving

Use relatable examples (e.g., AI in healthcare, environment, social media)

10 mins

Explain the Challenge:
“How can AI help you explore your future career or study pathway?”

Introduce Design Thinking steps (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) with focus on career planning

Use a visual template or flipchart, share simple examples

25 mins

Group Work - Design Thinking Activity:
In groups of 4-5, students pick one challenge and use AI tools like ChatGPT, Canva AI, or Career Explorer bots to explore solutions. Example: "What skills do I need to become a sustainability engineer?"

Encourage teamwork, creativity, and exploration of AI tools

Assign a facilitator to each group to guide them; provide a printed "Challenge Sheet" with steps and instructions

10 mins

Group Sharing / Gallery Walk:
Each group presents their AI-supported idea in 2 minutes. Optionally, posters or digital slides can be shared.

Promote public speaking, teamwork, and learning from peers

Keep it informal, celebrate effort (not perfection)
