Coordinating, creating content, and teaching the first ever Behavioral Medicine Upskilling Course for Primary Care Nurses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This is part of the wider Department of Health and SEHA initiative to integrate mental health services into primary care.

  • Associate Victims Expert, International Criminal Court, 2004-2016

Conducting psycho-social pre-interview assessments of victim witnesses (primarily victims of sexual crimes and child soldiers) worldwide (DR Congo, Uganda, Chad, Tanzania, Egypt, Ivory Coast etc.); monitoring of victim's mental health throughout the interview; advising investigators on the most appropriate strategies for questioning; organizing, facilitating and/or delivering trainings for investigators on psycho-social issues (stress management, trauma and memory, interviewing children, interviewing victims of sexual crimes etc.); co-organising expert meetings; supervising the external network of 10 psychologists/psychiatrists; liaising with other international tribunals/courts and NGOs; attending and presenting at international conferences.

Creating and delivering a module on psycho-social aspects of interviewing witnesses on bi-annual basis since 2008 as a part of the International Investigator Course. Since 2011, the module has been broadened by adding secondary traumatization and burnout topics to the existing ones.

Creating and delivering a module on self-care for practitioners and psychology of conflict-related sexual violence in the framework of specialized training for investigating sexual and gender based crimes in armed conflicts co-organized by IICI, Justice Rapid Response and UN Women.

  • Witness Assistant, International Criminal Tribunal for Ex-Yugoslavia, 2001-2004

Providing care for victims and witnesses during their stay in The Hague - providing them with psycho-social support prior, during and after the testimony.

Co-organizing conferences between ICTY and local mental health facilities in order to ensure post-trial support for witnesses in the region.

In charge of individual and group therapy/ psychological support for refugees and asylum seekers either at the Omega premises or in refugee centers in the area; assisting in rolling out of EU Daphne Program (promotion of Children’s Rights); project manager of the multicultural catering project involving refugee women and giving them the opportunity to interact in joint activity of cooking that provided them with income- occupational therapy combined with self-sustainability.
