Admission Requirements

Admission of male and female national and international students to Zayed University graduate degree programs is subject to minimum academic and, in some instances, work experience standards which are defined by Graduate Studies Deanship. Colleges may set higher admission standards for specific graduate degree programs.

Prerequisites

  • Academic Requirement

Applicants must have an earned baccalaureate degree in a discipline considered appropriate to the graduate program from an accredited university recognized by the U.A.E. Ministry of Education with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0-point scale or equivalent.

  • Language Requirements

Applicants to graduate degree programs offered in English must meet one of the following English language requirements:

  • a minimum score of 1400 on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination, or

  • TOEFL scores of 213 CBT, 79 iBT, or

  • an IELTS (Academic) overall band score of not less than 6.0, or

  • evidence that the applicant is a native speaker of English who has completed his/her undergraduate education in an English medium institution in a country where English is the official language, or

  • an earned undergraduate qualification from an English-medium institution with evidence of the following:

- a minimum score of 1250 on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination, or

- TOEFL scores of 197 CBT, 71 iBT, or

- an IELTS (Academic) overall band score of not less than 5.5.

Zayed University, at its discretion, may require additional testing or certification for any applicant qualifying under this stipulation.

An English language proficiency test result is normally considered valid if the test has been taken no more than two years prior to the admission deadline of the graduate degree program the applicant is applying for.

Applicants to graduate degree programs offered in Arabic must meet one of the following English language requirements:

  • A minimum score range of 950-1075 on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination, or

  • Pre-Program Courses

Applicants may be required to complete pre-program courses to demonstrate competency as directed by specific program requirements. However, the total number of credits of the preparatory courses must not exceed  twelve (12) credit hours.

Executive Master in Business Administration applicants must have a basic knowledge of accounting, economics, finance and statistics prior to gaining entry into the master's degree program. Applicants may therefore be required to successfully complete appropriate pre-program courses at the discretion of the Graduate Program Admissions Committee. Applicants requiring pre-program courses are subject to an additional fee. Applicants who have completed the equivalent courses at institutions at the tertiary level may be exempted from this requirement.

 Other Admission Requirements

If the transcript does not include the degree designation and when it was attained, an official degree certificate must be submitted.
