How to Cope with Remote Working

With these uncertain and challenging times due to COVID 19, the influence of workplace closure on campuses goes beyond academics. We all need to be aware of and equipped in order to cope with the possible effects on our individual mental health and the wellbeing of our staff, and faculty.

Despite the circumstances posed by Social Distancing, we understand that our lives cannot simply revolve around work and deadlines. We would like to also take this opportunity to re-iterate the support services available to faculty and staff to help them cope with the impact of the existing challenges.

Accountability and Deliverables

Every line manager is responsible to set and determine clear tasks & deliverables of each employee during the remote working period. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) will be applied and measured by your managers directly in accordance to FAHR rules & regulations. Completing your KPI based on the line manager requirements will be counted as your attendance during this period.

Furthermore, the attendance system will be disabled and it will be up to each line manager to ensure the commitment of each employee during this period.

Remote Working Software/ Tools:

  • Faculty: Adobe Connect tool will be used by Faculty to manage their online distance teaching and learning sessions.

  • Staff: Webex tool will be used by Staff to manage their VCs, online meetings, etc which can also be facilitated on a case by case basis upon official request to the IT Department.

We would also like to confirm that, based on our student requests, we have been able to make the access to https://zu.adobeconnect.com portal free of any data charges for those who uses Etisalat data connection. Work is in progress to have the same done for data packages on Du connections as well, will update the community as soon as we receive them.

Cisco Webex Video Conferencing
