Transition to ZU Checklist

The Second Week of Classes

Congratulations again and welcome to Zayed University! From the time you find out you are admitted to the start of classes you may find yourself with lots of questions.

This webpage is your Transition to ZU Checklist. It will provide you with information to help you prepare for your first semester. Below you will find links and explanations to commonly asked questions, as well as information about who to contact with other concerns.

Things to do this week:

  • Check your university email account and SAP daily

There are frequent schedule changes that happen in the first two weeks of the semester. If a class is on your schedule you are responsible for attending it. Ensure you are checking your schedule often, especially if you are missing classes, as they may be added by the administration.

Throughout the semester you will be kept informed by the university, your advisor, and professors through email. It is important to check your mail daily and delete unneeded messages. If you do not, your email inbox will fill up, and you will stop sending/receiving emails.

  • Decide if you need to suspend your enrollment this semester

While pursuing your degree you will have the ability to take 2 semesters off for personal reasons.

The deadline to request a suspension for the semester is traditionally the second week of the semester, but you should check the deadline in the Academic Calendar.
