Dr Arin received his PhD from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, U.S.A in August 2003. Then he worked in Massey University, Auckland, New Zealand for 7 years.

Dr Arin's area of specialization is macroeconomics, and he has wide research interests in the areas of monetary and fiscal policy, open economy macroeconomics and public economics. He has taught courses in macroeconomic principles, microeconomic principles, monetary economics, econometrics and public economics. He has won numerous teaching and research awards. Dr Arin was a visiting professor in TU Dresden (Germany), RWTH Aachen (Germany), University of Ulm (Germany), Helmut - Schmidt University (Germany), KOF Institute (Switzerland) and Goethe University of Frankfurt (Germany).

He has published over 20 articles in journals like Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Economics Letters, Journal of Management, Public Choice, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Macroeconomics, Open Economies Review, Applied Economics and World Development .

He is currently a Research Associate at the Centre of Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA), Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He has worked as a consultant for a number of development agencies around the World.
