Bio

Dr. Basel Almourad is an Associate Professor of IT in the College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University. He Received his PhD in Computer Science from Cardiff University in the UK. Before joining Zayed University, he was in the College of Information Technology at the University of Dubai. Prior to that, he spent one year as a Senior Lecturer of IT at Wolverhampton University in the UK and five years as a Lecturer of IT at Aston University in the UK.  He received outstanding faculty awards in the University College at Zayed University in 2012 & 2014.

Dr. Almourad is also certified by Prince2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) and also certified by ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).

Dr. Almourad’s main research interests are in the areas of database systems and the application of data science, as well as Persuasive Technology. His research has also focused on HCI and Web Accessibility.
