Associate Professor, Assistant Chair - Information Systems and Technology Management Department
Dr Maher is an Associate Professor at the College of Technological Innovation, specializing in AI, Data Science, Big Intelligence, and Analytics. Before joining Zayed University, he acquired significant experience in both industry and academia.
In the professional sector, particularly in banking and consultancy, Dr Maher developed and implemented various credit and behavioral scoring models that were crucial for credit decision-making. He also performed validation exercises for banks' risk models to ensure they met industry standards and best practices. In academia, Dr Maher has contributed to numerous projects in intelligent systems, financial modeling, sustainability, and healthcare analytics across the UK and UAE. He is also an IEEE member and IBM-certified Artificial Intelligence Analyst.
Dr Maher's work has been published in prestigious journals and featured at international conferences, including the Journal of Big Data, Expert Systems with Applications, Knowledge-Based Systems, Journal of Building Engineering, and Annals of Operational Research. He also serves as a reviewer for leading journals such as Expert Systems with Applications and IEEE Access, particularly in the field of credit scoring.
