Bio

Dr Sanaa Kaddoura holds a PhD in computer science from Beirut Arab University, Lebanon. She is currently employed as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. 

Sanaa was awarded Young Woman Researcher in Computer Science in the 8th Venus International Women Awards (VIWA 2023). In addition, she is an award winning of "Woman Leader in ICT Excellence Award" in the "22nd Middle East Women Leaders Excellence Award". Moreover, she was awarded the Best Teaching Award from Beirut Arab University (2013). Furthermore, she was awarded Jamal Abdul Nasser Prize for Academic Distinction from Beirut Arab University (2008).

Sanaa lead several research projects funded externally and internally. Sanaa's emergent research profile shows her continuous work on her research topics. Sanaa is an active researcher in natural language processing. She published her first authored book in generative adversarial networks (GANs) in 2023. She recently published her first edited book, "Handbook of Research on AI Methods and Applications in Computer Engineering". She also did several papers about applying machine learning to medical problems, natural language processing and cyber security. She has more than 20 journal articles published in Scopus-indexed journals, more than 4 book chapters and more than 6 conference proceedings. Sanaa was invited several times to be a keynote speaker and write magazine articles. The links appear in the CV. 

She organized Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity (AICS'22) under the 19th ACS/IEEE International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA 2022) organized at Zayed University/AUH.

She has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Advance HE (FHEA) since 2019, demonstrating a personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education. Furthermore, she is a Certified Specialist from Blackboard Academy since April 2021.
