Associate Professor, Assistant Dean for Students Affairs - Abu Dhabi
Dr. Fatna Belqasmi holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Concordia University, Canada. She has experience in both academia and industry. She has also participated in large multilateral collaborative projects, such as the European Union 6th Framework Ambient Network project and the Information Technology for European Advancement (ITEA) Web of Objects project. Her research interests include next generation networks, cloud computing and virtualization, service provisioning (e. g SOAP-based and RESTful web services), Internet of things and m2m communication, tactile Internet, and networking technologies for emerging economies. Dr. Belqasmi has co-authored more than 19 peer-reviewed journal articles and 40 conference papers, 1 granted patent and 1 published patent application; She served as general chair for AFRICATECK-2017, and as a TPC chair, TPC member or reviewer for several international conferences, workshops, and journals. Dr. Fatna Belqasmi is currently working as Associate Professor at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. In the past, she worked as a research associate at the Telecommunications Service Engineering (TSE) research lab at Concordia University, as a researcher at Ericsson Canada with an Industrial R&D Fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and as an R&D engineer and unit manager at Maroc Telecom, Morocco.
