Associate Professor
Dr. Ahmad Wazan is an associate professor at Zayed University. Between 2014 and 2019, he served as an associate professor at the University of Toulouse and was a member of the SIERA research group at the IRIT Laboratory. His research interests include trust management, Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs), access control, operating system security, and security requirements engineering.
From 2007 to 2011, Dr. Wazan led a research project that developed a new trust model for the X.509 standard by introducing a new entity known as the Trust Broker. This innovation was incorporated into the 2016 edition of the X.509 standard. Additionally, he collaborated with researchers from the UK and France to create the first proof-of-concept verifiable credential system.
More recently, Dr. Wazan conducted a project that proposed a new command, "sr" (switch role), designed to replace the traditional "sudo" command in Linux environments. Further information on this project can be found on his GitHub repository here: https://github.com/SamerW/RootAsRole).
