Bio
Dr. Shahrazad Abu Ghazleh has obtained her PhD in Physical Geology from Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany in 2011. Her PhD thesis was on water level changes of Lake Lisan, the glacial precursor of the Dead Sea and the associated climatic and environmental changes of the Eastern Mediterranean. Between 2012 and 2023, She worked as a Visiting Professor and then as an Assistant Professor at the United Arab Emirates University. In 2021, she got the research-oriented female scientist award and was hired as a Visiting Professor at the Darmstadt University of Technology, Department of Geothermal Energy and Technology. Starting August 2024, she joined Zayed University, College of Natural and Health Sciences as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Shahrazad is a reviewer for the Journals of “Geomorphology”, “Universal Journal of Earth Science” and “Iceland Scientific Fund”. She also a member of several international geoscience associations. She also participated actively in public service and obtained several grants and awards.

Research experience and interests are in the areas of limnology, hydrology, geomorphology, geothermal energy, climatic changes and environment sustainability.
