Maria João Figueiras, Clinical Health Psychologist (specialist), Ph.D. in Health Psychology from Kings College (University of London). She also has a specialty in Psychotherapy and is a registered Europsy Psychologist. Full Professor of Clinical Health Psychology (with Habilitation) and researcher, currently teaches at Zayed University, Department of Psychology, College of Health and Natural Sciences, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She is an active member of the research community. Develops Social and Human Sciences research with an emphasis on Clinical Health Psychology. Her work has contributed significantly to the field and has impacted the lives of individuals adjusting to chronic illnesses. She received four research awards. She has collaborated with several higher education institutions.
