Assistant Professor
Ph.D., Doctor in Physics, Institute of Physics of Rennes, France, 2012.
Bio
Dr. Imen Ben Salem is an expert in CO2 capture, clean energy technology, and environmental protection. She has developed eco-friendly mineralization techniques for carbon capture using biochar from agricultural waste. Her postdoctoral research at the Masdar Institute, in collaboration with MIT, advanced the understanding of CO2 transport in saline aquifers for underground storage. Currently, she is developing a high-performance, hole transport media-free carbon perovskite solar device with UAEU, focusing on stability and degradation. Dr. Ben Salem has published over 35 papers and presents widely at international conferences. She actively incorporates her research into teaching, engaging students in practical applications.
