The department offers an undergraduate  degree in Public Health and Nutrition. In addition,  students majoring in other areas may enroll in the Minor in Public Health or choose elective courses from our program. As a department we encourage students to engage in enriching activities outside the classroom, including fieldtrips, conference participation, research, students clubs and community activities.

The faculty members have a multidisciplinary background with different expertise in health sciences. Our faculty members have a students centered approach, supporting the students towards success. Their enthusiasm for health and wellbeing is evident both inside and outside the classroom! Our research is based around health and nutrition in a broad perspective and includes interdisciplinary research, and collaborative research within the university or with stakeholders in the community. Students get opportunities to engage in research throughout their education.

”While healing the sick is a clear priority, it is also true that prevention is better than cure.

The UAE will intensify its fight against lifestyle diseases, where early intervention to change habits can dramatically improve citizens’ prospects for quality of life. The government will also act tirelessly to eliminate diseases spread by inadequate public health and sanitation.” (Source; UAE Vision 2021)
