Bio

Shorouk Hanafy has over 20 years of experience in TEFL, Rhetoric and Composition, EAP, ESP in addition to teacher and corporate training. She is finishing her EdD in TESOL from the University of Exeter with a focus on the use of blended learning to promote critical reading, critical thinking, and academic writing skills. She has an MA. in TEFL from the American University in Cairo. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) and a Certified Apple Teacher. Prior to joining CIS, she taught at Zayed University in the Department of English and Writing Studies and at the American University in Cairo in the Department of Rhetoric and Composition at the American University in Cairo. She has expertise in pedagogical innovation and curriculum development. Her research interests are focused on critical reading and thinking, academic writing, student engagement, and educational technology.
