Bio

Maryam Jawad is an Instructor in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies (CIS) at Zayed University, Dubai Campus, U.A.E. Prior joining CIS, she started her Zayed University journey in 2017 at the College of Business (Abu Dhabi Campus) as a Lecturer (Instructional Practitioner). Being a dual master’s degree holder; MBA & M.Ed., and her overall 13 years of teaching experience in different academic institutions in the UAE such as Al Ain University, INSEAD The Business School for the World and Al Hosn University has built a strong interdisciplinary background. She possesses diverse academic and industrial experience in Pakistan and U.A.E., holding several teaching and administrative positions. She has taught a wide variety of undergraduate courses and was a member of various college committees. Her experience has been valuable in teaching business, management, finance, accounting, economics, general education, and cognate modules in the undergraduate level with the deployment of the most effective and innovative learning strategies focusing on students’ interactions and engagement in class to enhance their commitment to active learning at these universities.

She has a multidisciplinary interest in research areas of leadership and policy studies in education, teaching & learning dynamics, pedagogy, educational partnership in educational contexts, areas of business management, finance (corporate governance, mergers, and acquisition, Islamic finance) and accounting (Financial reporting, Islamic banking) and currently working on cross-disciplinary research.
